Our Mission

Our mission is twofold: spread the Gospel and fulfill our obligation of helping those less fortunate through our St Anthony’s Charities program.

As Franciscans we are pledged to follow in St. Anthony’s holy footsteps.

Our beloved Saint faithfully dedicated himself to bringing God’s message of hope and love to those hardest to reach, the poorest of the poor, the most rejected, and the most downtrodden.

Gospel and Charity

The Anthonian Association distributes the Messenger of Saint Anthony / Messaggero di Sant’Antonio. This devotional monthly Catholic magazine unites the Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, Italy to its many devotees who live in the United States.

The Association uses the money it receives from St Anthony’s devotees to fund our St Anthony’s Charities program that supports the charitable works of Franciscan priests, nuns, and NGOs who are aiding the most vulnerable and needy people across the world.

Every year the Board of Directors selects and approves for disbursement many charitable projects (domestically and worldwide) that meet the Association’s mission and guidelines set forth by our stewardship team.

Financial Accountability

At the Anthonian Association, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do – because we recognize that every resource entrusted to us can transform real people’s lives.

As part of our stewardship, we optimize resources and distribute them where they are needed most.

We carefully monitor and review programs and costs, use donations and grants for their intended purposes, and look for ways to leverage funds for maximum impact. In addition, we continually strive to keep our overhead low.

Our effectiveness has earned the trust and support of many around the world. Because the Association is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible.
